Correcting Transcripts: The Built-in Editor in Detail — memozero

Editor Overview

After transcription, the built-in editor opens automatically. Here you see the complete text with speaker attribution and can edit it directly. The editor is specifically designed for efficient transcript correction.

Synchronized Playback

The core feature of the editor is synchronized audio playback:

  • Karaoke mode: As the recording plays, the currently spoken word is highlighted in the text.
  • Click navigation: Click any word to start playback at exactly that position.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Control play/pause and navigation via keyboard without taking your hands off the text.

Reviewing Uncertain Passages

memozero automatically flags words with low recognition confidence. These low-confidence markers help you focus on the passages most likely to need correction.

Here’s the workflow:

  1. Click on a flagged passage.
  2. The audio player automatically jumps two seconds before the relevant section.
  3. Listen to the passage and correct the text directly in the editor if needed.

Editing Speaker Labels

The Global Rename feature lets you change speaker labels document-wide. Click on a speaker label, enter the desired name, and the change is applied everywhere instantly.
